Everyone was getting tired of waiting for me to arrive and mummy was getting
sick of people asking if I'd been born yet. Mummy's Doctor decided we could
wait no longer and booked mummy in for an inducement on Friday 22 July 1994.
The Doctor hooked mummy up to a drip and broke her waters, then all hell broke loose,
Mummy was getting contractions thick and fast, they were very painful so she
asked for an epidural, luckily an anaethetist was in the next room and he
came and administered it very promptly. Then my Mummy just lay back and
relaxed and watched TV most of the day, without feeling anything at all!
Then they let the epidural wear off and Mummy had to push for an hour, but I
was a bit stuck and my Mummy started to get distressed and said she couldn't
push any more.
The Doctor came and topped up the epidural and put Mummy's legs up
in stirrups and they pulled me out with forceps, which wasn't really that
nice for me either, I only got a tiny little mark on my head though, which quickly
faded.
My Mummy was so happy to see me, all 8lb 11oz of me, and I must
admit I was rather gorgeous. I took to breastfeeding like a duck to water and
was still sucking the fat out of Mummy 18 months later when she finally gave
me the boot because she was 3 months pregnant with my brother to be.
ABOUT DAVID
David with his pet budgie Toby
I am 4 years old.
My favourite thing to do is jigsaw puzzles, I spend hours doing them. I am getting
pretty good too, I can do 200 piece puzzles all by myself now, I was
doing 30 piece puzzles when I was 2 and a half, Mummy and Daddy are very
proud of me.
I also love to do any painting and craft activities. I have lots of colouring
books and I really love doing dot-to-dots.
bit.
I got a big bike for Christmas, it has trainer wheels, and my Daddy takes me
down to the park to ride it there, as our backyard is too small. I wear a
dinosaur bike helmet and look really cool.
I love playing with my train set, my matchbox toys and trucks, anything with
wheels!
My sandpit gets a real work out, my brother Richard and I will play in the
sand for ages, we make sandcastles, fill up the tractor with sand and play workmen.
I love to play pretend games.
Books are another of my favourite things. Mummy is a bookaholic and so am I.
I have a lot of books and we also get books from the library all the time.
For my last birthday party, my Mummy made me a Pirate Galleon. I really like
pirates, superheroes and anything that involves rough play. I also like
getting videos out from the library.
I love to play on the computer. I have lots of my own software and have been
able to use the computer since I was 2 and a half. I learn a lot of things,
I especially like learning about animals and the world. DK Multimedia has
some great CDs for kids and I am lucky enough to have four of them.
My favourite food is chocolate - my whole family loves to eat chocolate. I
love food full stop actually.
My best friends are Vanessa who is one day younger than me and I have known
her since I was a baby, and Clyde. I have lots of other friend too, but they
