ABOUT STEVE

Steve was born in Totness, England on 16 June 1956, that makes him 42. He has an older sister, Christine and a younger brother, Peter.

About 6 months after Steve was born, his parents decided to emigrate to Australia, so essentially, Steve is Australian! He grew up in the northern suburb Blair Athol and was educated at Enfield High School. Steve left school at age 16 and left home at the same time. He obtained a clerical position at The South Australian Brewing Company and from there worked himself up the ranks to management. In total, Steve was at SA Brewing for 20 years, so when he left got a nice slab of money to pay off the mortgage and set himself up in business.

Steve waited for many years until he met the 'right' girl, that just happened to be Chook, hehehe, he probably wonders now, why he bothered waiting!

STEVE'S INTERESTS

Steve adores his two boys and loves spending time with them. He has a lot of patience and will build lots of things for them out of lego, take them to the park, let them use the lawnmower and all the blokey sorts of things.

Steve is a bit of a fitness fanatic (unlike Chook), and it isn't unusual to see him jogging in his lunch hour down by the River Torrens. He loves to have a sauna, but doesn't get to do that as often as he would like. One day when we get that dream house, maybe it will have a sauna in it!!!! Steve used to play squash every week, but had to give it up due to an injury, much to his disappointment.

Steve loves cars and anything to do with motor racing. Bathurst and Formula 1 racing rank highly. He loves reading motoring magazines, and can tell you the specs of any new car that has come onto the market. He and his great mate Peter, are always discussing the ins and outs of the mechanics of the automobile. I think Steve should really have been a mechanic.

Work is another of Steve's great passions!! Yep, he is a workaholic, always has been, always will be. He's obsessed by it. He is also very good at it. I'm not complaining, it pays the bills, and I'm too busy on the computer these days to notice! Steve is Marketing Manager for United Distillers Australia, responsible for South Australia and the Northern Territory. He loves his job and the people he works with.

Steve loves to socialise, and doesn't mind a drink! Unfortunately for him, part of his job is to go out to the pubs and clubs and check up on how the promotions are working - tough life isn't it darling!

Steve loves the beach, and would love to own a house there. Before children, we used to be at the beach every weekend, sunbaking, those were the days. Steve loves eating hot and spicy food, the hotter the better, he has a cast iron mouth. He does like my cooking though, and I don't make hot and spicy things, if he wants that, he has to go out for it.

Steve's dream is for Chook to stop wanting more babies, so we have mutually agreed for Steve to get cut and tied when number three finally makes its appearance, in December 1998!

We both love Greek food and our dream is to one day visit Greece, and a number of other countries, but Greece is at the top of the list at the moment. Europe, United States, any country where the weather is warm, one day we will get there.

Steve's mother died more than 10 years ago, and his father moved to Queensland. His father remarried last year to a lovely Kiwi lady, Jeanette and they live in paradise, in seclusion at Tallebudgera, half an hour inland from the Gold Coast. We like to visit whenever we can, we've just come back from a visit up there and it was great!

Steve would love to live in Queensland too, hopefully his job may take us there one day and we too, can enjoy that wonderful sunshine, with our big house and backyard!!!
